DUNDAS RESIDENT TO RECIEVE ONTARIO SENIOR ACHIEVMENT AWARD

Waterdown – Ted McMeekin MPP is pleased to announce that Hugh Clark is being recognized by the McGuinty government for his exceptional contribution to our community through their voluntary and professional activities.

Mr. Clark is one of 26 Ontarians to receive the Ontario Senior Achievement Awards, the province’s highest recognition for seniors.

The award will be presented to Clark by the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and the Honourable Aileen Carroll, Minister Responsible for Seniors, at a ceremony on Friday, February 15th at Queen’s Park in Toronto.

“I would like to congratulate Mr. Clark for being honoured with an Ontario Senior Achievement Award,” said McMeekin.  His work is truly a benefit to our community and his helping hands have touched the lives of many in our riding.

Hugh Clark embodies the principles of community leadership and integrity. He shows this through his numerous volunteer activities in the City of Hamilton through numerous volunteer activities. For example, his connection with the Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton goes back sixty years. Recently, the Clark Family Fund donated money to support Children’s Aid Society bursaries to help young people complete post-secondary education. Mr. Clark believes “everyone has a role and responsibility in creating a strong community.” His entrepreneurial skills, sage advice, fundraising abilities and philanthropy have benefited social services, mental health, youth, education and the arts throughout Hamilton. He has also served as President of Alternatives for Youth, and on the board of organizations including McMasterUniversity, the Hamilton Community Foundation, and St. Joseph’s Villa Board.

“Our government is proud to recognize some of the unique and outstanding contributions made by seniors in Ontario,” said Minister Carroll.
